“Is your Cell Phone a Cause of War”

Create a  “Spread the Word Campaign” about “conflict minerals”.

 Decide how you are going to show what is happening in the Congo?  Review your choices below.

o   Xtranormal Movie:  Write a script…either a dialogue between two people, or a monologue that answers the questions below.  After you have the script, create an xtranormal movie that spreads the word about conflict minerals and what people can do to help.  Publish the completed video on Facebook.

o   Essay:  Write an essay that addresses the questions below.  After you write the essay, complete a poster that illustrates the points made in your essay and spreads the word about conflict minerals and what people can do to help.  Put poster up around the school.

o   Presentation:  Create a power point presentation that informs students about “blood minerals” and answers the questions below.  

Your campaign should address the following questions:

1.       Explain the situation in the Congo.  Include facts, examples, and details from the article and your knowledge about the situation.

2.       How can United States policies influence what is happening there?

3.       What can you do to help?
